Nothing beats a good facial! Good skin is the cornerstone of beauty, and without a healthy, glowing canvas, your make-up will never look as good as it should. Having a facial once a month ensures your skin is always looking its absolute best.
Having experienced so many different facials and treatments during my time in the beauty industry, it takes a lot to really WOW me. As someone in their early fifties, I enjoy trying products and treatments that tone and boost the circulation to keep the skin youthful and radiant.
When I heard of the bespoke DMK Enzyme Treatment by The Skin Aspirations Clinic in Chelsea I thought it sounded perfect for me. I booked myself in straight away, excited to experience it for myself and see the results.
I was given a warm welcome as soon as I stepped into The Skin Aspirations Clinic, and felt very looked after by Founder and Skin Therapist, the lovely Simona Mazenyte.
Simona took her time to talking through every step of the treatment process so that I understood the process as it happened, as well as the incredible benefits it would have on my skin.
DMK has a revolutionary 4 step model to REMOVE, REBUILD, PROTECT and MAINTAIN.
The first step of the therapy was the ‘Deep Pure Pore’, a deep cleanser made from botanical and herbal extracts to loosens and lifts away impurities – one of the most crucial steps for anyone that lives in a polluted city such as London, like myself.
After the refreshing cleanse followed a ‘Sebum Soak’ which softens the hardened sebum plugs in preparation for the extraction process. Simona gently squeezed away all the impurities on my face, a satisfying sensation!
The lovely Simona then applied ‘Pore Reduction Drops’ onto my face to tighten and open pores without stripping the skins natural oils. Our skin’s natural oils deplete as we age, so it’s crucial to steer clear of anything they may strip them unnecessarily as it speeds up the aging process!
My skin was now feeling refreshed and prepared for the ‘Enzyme Masque’! Simona soothingly applied the mask and in no time at all I felt my skin really toning. This was nothing like I’d experienced with any other facial; the mask was an incredibly hot, stingy and prickly mask. But I wouldn’t let that put you off!
Once 45 minutes had passed and I was feeling like a statue! I couldn’t move my face at all. Simona proceeded to remove the mask by massaging it away with warm water and a brush. Instantaneously, my skin was feeling toned, smooth and refreshed.
Looking in the mirror, I saw my face was very rosy and the capillaries that were visible on my neck. Simona reassured me that this was a great sign that the mask had worked perfectly, and my circulation had been boosted which would give my skin a wonderful youthful glow.
A more science-y explanation is that this result is known as the “Plasmatic Effect” which occurs when newly oxygenated blood rushes from the skin straight into the capillaries. So, the redder you look post-treatment, the better!
Here is the list of products that the Simona used on my face after the treatment:
- Beta Gel – addresses reactive, inflamed or irritated skin.
- Direct Delivery Vitamin C serum – key vitamin for the production of collagen which gives skin its firmness.
- Eye tone serum – treats fine lines as well as dark circles or puffy skin under the eyes.
- Herb and Mineral Mist – helps the oils and crème to penetrate deeper into the skin.
- SPF sunscreen.
Simona advised me that the results of the Enzyme facial should last around 6 weeks, around 7-and-a-half weeks on my skin is still more toned and radiant before the treatment.
I highly recommend this new treatment – the Skin Aspirations facial is perfect for any age and most skin types. Prices range from £150 to £180.
