When The Shed opened up in my neighbourhood, I was so excited to try what I already had heard was a delight.

Conveniently placed around the corner from Notting Hill Gate tube, The Shed makes you forget about the hustle and bustle of London living and takes you straight into country heaven.

Love you:  I love the idea of sharing plates, reminds me very much of the way I eat at home – it’s all about the food, trying everything, bringing people together and devouring more!  The lunch menu is seasonal and changes daily which keeps you coming back for more and on the 8th of November 2012, we started with the Venison terrine which was tasty and well seasoned, not offensive at all which is what you might expect from game.   This was followed by the Venison Stew, Nettle Dumplings which was superb and the Exmouth Mussels were a lovely balance of sweet and salty.  If it is your lucky day and the Lamb Chips with lemon, parsley and harissa are on the menu, then make sure you order more than one plate!   Who would have thought you could enjoy slow stewed lamb with a crunch – delicious!!

Prices of plates range from £6 to £8.50 and are reasonably sized for this price.

Leave you:  The Shed makes every effort to depict a very country comfort type of restaurant dining – and rightfully so, however, it does come at a risk… Ladies – look out for the wide barrels used as tables, comfortable closed legs seating is a challenge!
